MERCURY GLASS

Mercury Glass, also called silvered glass, was first made in the 1850's in Bohemia.  It was also called the "poor man's silver" and made to resemble "real" silver.  Actually mercury glass can be considered the first true art glass.  It's glittering beauty makes it a real collectible.
